Ocean Pals Series

Ocean Pals is a fiction series that follows four friends who meet and volunteer together at a local, no-kill animal shelter.

Who Rescued Who?
Book #1

--

Follow four strangers who become fast friends as they volunteer together at a local no-kill animal shelter. The trials and tribulations of their lives are intertwined with their shifts at the shelter and the dogs they meet who change them forever.

Sammi struggles with heartbreak and living at home in her 30's while JC tries to juggle his failing business and his husband's desire to grow their family. Camille wonders if she should go back to work full-time since her pre-teen son is growing up and away from her. Veteran volunteer Willa is asked to take on more responsibility at the shelter, but she has her two college-aged kids at home with their own adult-sized obstacles.

When the shelter has a break-in, they must figure out what happened and why, plus find new, temporary homes for all the animals. Work, life, love, and family struggles intermix with our main characters--Sammi, Camille, JC, and Willa --as they band together to help Ocean Pals Animal Shelter re-open and get back to saving animals in need.

Add in 20 or so adorable, homeless dogs to the mix, plus some shady business going on behind the scenes at the shelter, and the rollercoaster of Ocean Pals has officially left the station.

Prepare to laugh, cry, and want to cuddle and adopt all the amazing dogs and cats!

Shelter Me
 Book #2

--

Our favorite volunteers are back with more dogs and more drama as the story at Ocean Pals Animal Shelter continues!

Life is hectic for new co-directors Camille and Willa and they must balance their home and work lives – which isn’t always easy. Camille struggles with marriage and teenager issues while Willa battles bad work colleagues and juggles her love and family life.

JC tries to work well with his bullheaded business partner and struggles to navigate the slow-moving foster care and adoption system. Sammi pushes to move her and Trevor’s relationship forward but hits some major roadblocks in her pursuit.

The dogs and cats at Ocean Pals are put in jeopardy when a new leader infiltrates the shelter’s board of directors. Adoption, surrender, protection, sickness, and sadness weave their way through this story and will squeeze at your heart.

Join in on the journey and prepare to fall in love with all the adoptable animals who come through Ocean Pals’ doors.

Stay Pawsitive
 Book #3

--

Spring has sprung in Ocean Park and everyone is ready for some fun, sun, and a new larger shelter!

Camille continues to try and to keep her work-life balance in check, while also trying to reign in a shelter expansion-obsessed Willa. Between that and Willa's new love interest, a wedge is shoved between the two co-directors.

JC and Ryan get their wish and are finally called upon to be foster parents, but there's a catch that takes JC off guard. Sammi continues her single-girl revolution, but hits a few bumps along the way.

More dogs and cats come through Ocean Pals's doors while a few lucky ones leave to go home with their furever families. The shelter is busting at the seams and moving to a larger location would benefit everyone. Too bad that's easier said than done.

Our favorite shelter volunteers continue to help animals, fight against ever present hiccups, and lean on each other through thick and thin.

Here are some of the real-life dogs and cats that are featured in the Ocean Pals series.

Ocean Tumblers series

Ocean Tumblers is a young adult gymnastics series that follows the girls' competitive team from Ocean Tumblers Gymnastics Center in Ocean Park, Maryland. While not only going through the typical teenage problems, these girls also have to endure 20+ hour a week practices, mind-boggling injuries, teammate drama, and a hectic competition schedule--all while in skin-tight leotards that dig into your skin.
